This exciting new route marks another milestone in AirAsia’s commitment to enhancing regional connectivity and promoting tourism between Malaysia and Indonesia.
A Grand Welcome in Manado
On the inaugural flight’s arrival in Manado, passengers and crew were treated to a warm and festive welcome. The airport buzzed with energy as a traditional dance performance greeted the visitors, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of North Sulawesi. The dancers, dressed in vibrant traditional attire, performed with grace and enthusiasm, reflecting the warmth and hospitality of the local people.
Adding to the grandeur of the occasion, the aircraft was honored with a water cannon salute as it taxied to the terminal. The water arch, a time-honored aviation tradition, symbolized good luck and a successful partnership between the two destinations. This ceremonial gesture highlighted the significance of the new route and the enthusiasm surrounding its launch.
Promoting Sabah in Manado

Onboard this inaugural flight was the CEO of Sabah Tourism Board, who took this opportunity to promote Sabah as a prime travel destination to the people of Manado.
